I'll agree with you there. To me, when you post an actual ad, that's an implied invitation to contact them. When I invite people to contact me, I do respond.

Although, that being said. SH automatically creates an ad for you when you create (and possibly edit) your profile. I noticed that and deleted the ad. Most people probably don't.

forums for the most part on every site are dead for good reason. Too many posts by too many people. Many are only 1 post so wading thru them takes more time than most people can afford to wast in their busy lives. 

 I respectfully disagree, we have a profile on another site that sees multiple daily threads and conversations, an active and vibrant (although sometimes like High School) community exchanging ideas, advice and everything in between.

...and to the OP’s original question, yes, absolutely, people from SH really do meet IRL (In Real Life).

we didn't say all sites, just most that we are members of. Endless posts with 1 or 2 comments from years gone by with the odd active thread is the norm.

 hmmmm......no, you said *every* site. 

I do agree that most LS sites have dated, stale two and three post threads. Hell, just take a look at the ones here on SH ! But this is only one of several. And the chat feature (although I’m not sure of its overall value for meeting anyone) is well used.

lol...my question exactly. Some message exchanging...some chat about meeting...until a time is actually set then poof! They are gone! My experience is that there are a lot of closet wannabes and dreamers. Tons of fakers. Thankfully this site is free! I'd hate to have spent a dime on this joke site.

I've found the same issue across most sites including CafeDesire. Mostly fakers and wannabe's that message a few times then disappear. A few flakes that disappear when meeting, including just not showing up for arranged dates. I've started not even leaving the house until I get confirmation that day we are meeting.

If any one has pro tips on getting through the noise I'm all ears. I'd like to meet more of the people we message.

There are a few ways to wade through the sea of fake profiles, ghosters, pic collectors... here is our 2cents for what it’s worth...

- Validate your profile.  It shows that you are real and others will know that you are who you say you are.

- Use an app for validating the other couple/single prior to meeting. KiK is an anonymous app that you can use and don’t have to share a cell number with the other person.

- Check out the “chat” on this site. You will see who is active and involved. 

- Go to the hotel take overs, meet and greet or the club scene. That’s the only place guaranteed to weed out anyone... Plus you may just hit it off and meet some great people.

As above, if you’re using any of the LS sites as your sole vehicle to meet people you’re not going to succeed. Get out to clubs, private parties, Meet n Greets, etc and go meet people IRL (In Real Life). We host events throughout the year...come to them !

No shows and cancellations is one of the main reasons that I will not invest any of my time in strangers. I get to know people at events first. I don't go to events with the goal of meeting a specific person who might be there. I go to meet whoever else is there. I may not ever meet that person who caught my eye online, but I meet plenty of people.

Rather than expecting to meet the people you message, why not message the people you meet? That's a much more realistic goal.

Hi there. Totally agree with you. Thankfully i don't pay for this site! I've met most people at group play dates or swinger clubs....and at Wreck Beach.

 Just make sure you read the vouchs, unfortunately some use it to start conversations, provide comments or even “ill vouche you if you vouche me”. 

Also check to see if a member is verified. This way you know the member has provided a face shot with a handwritten verification. If someone takes the time to prove they’re real to admin it’s a very good sign they are

l find most really active people are in Ontario. Not alot on the. Vancouver Island.  However l am a patient man and believe the right connection is worth waiting for. KnewWho damn your hot

We've met people on this site and played with some. Overall we consider ourselves pretty lucky

We’re hosting Bi-Night @ OZone this Fri (Mar 8) and a Meet n Greet Apr 4 in Hamilton. Check the events calendar for info. Get out from behind your screens and come meet real people !

We have met a few couples on here over the last couple of years. Ultimately you get out of it what you put in, for us we lead very full lives and we have a young family so we have to schedule everything we do. Do we play as much as we would like to ??? Probably not but that's on us as we dont attend events or clubs really and that's where all the networking takes place. At some point we will make more of an effort to attend more events and hopefully meet more people. Moral of the story melding fantasy and reality can be a challenge, be patient be realistic and be happy where you are in life?

I'm on [removed] and have actually met people from there. It's new and not very busy, but it's set up for meeting rather than chatting.

Definitely, we've met a few very nice couples and even made some good friends.

Both my husband and I are finding that half the couples on here and bi females are being chased off the site because of the (some) pushy couples and males . Since [removed]  has shut down we have been getting more and more of them from that particular site . I think we are going to start going to clubs as the sites are not giving us allot of choices

Been on this site for two years. I know I am not the pushy type. I figured I would have met more people. People are too scared to meet in person or shy and won't show their face! I'd like to meet someone who actually matches their profile ?

SH meet and greets at NYX. 

YES ... we actually prefer to meet people from SH. Although, we do like to converse only for a short while on SH before meeting for drinks or dinner to see if all four involved are compatible before setting any play dates. 

Another thing we prefer is to KEEP our conversations strictly on SH. We just find that it is way too easy to lose track of who we are talking to after we switch from the original name/handle on SH to an entirely different name/handle [removed] After we meet (even play) we then prefer to switch to personal cell #s after discretion, comfort, and trust are assured ?

In short ... Yes, people do meet via SH. You just have to be willing to cut the online dialogue short, and meet in the flesh so to speak (pardon the pun)
