Did you ever get any feedback on this? We've been told a few times that we're missing out to not be on FB but similarly we're not really comfortable linking to our accounts that have friends, family and colleagues associated.

I feel like setting up an account that doesn't share personal info shouldn't be too hard (throwaway email, no real names, etc.) but then when it comes to verifying that you're not a fake account (which it seems like is a requirement for many FB groups) what's the protocol?

Conversely, is there really a lot happening on FB? Is it worth the hassle?
