One of our couple friends moved west years ago, then they split up. I (m) always took the time to meet up with him when I was on business, it was fun to hear how his dating and new romances were going along. Mid-august I let him know I was in town for a conference and let's meet up for lunch. He responded and said "one better, I want you to meet up with my new girlfriend - just lunch though, no stuff." That sounded intriguing so I checked with my partner who was ok as long as it was kept to just lunch. Rules are rules.

Turns out, their relationship is great and he's put his whole past swinging life out there for her to hear about. She curious but it's not her thing and he's ok with that. However, since I was in town, he thought why not you two meet up and she can pepper me with all sorts of questions about his past wild side. I think he expected her to come back from lunch hot and bothered.

She looked a lot like his previous wife, I was happy to treat at a Bay Street restaurant. For over an hour I poured over every juicy memory I had that involved her new boyfriend. She didn't have to ask much, it was clear she was highly attentive to the details. When dessert and coffee was over, she thanked me, gave me a lovely kiss and hug and off she went.
